Internet works only in Safe Mode

    I think I have a virus/trojan problem but I can't connect to the internet in regular windows. But when I load it up in Safe mode the internet works fine. Also I can ping anywhere on the internet in regular mode. I am running Windows Xp media edition and its a dell XPS 400. Also after trying to do the removal process that you have ask us to do I can't run spybot and CCleaner in regular windows or safe mode.

    Are you sure you are not blocking anything with your antivirus or with your firewall? Try shutting them down in normal boot mode and see if you have internet access.

    If you have run the READ & RUN ME, where are the requested logs that are supposed to accompany a request for help?

    There shouldn't be any firewalls on. Also I thought you only put the logs up when requested. Here they are:

    In your first message you said this
    I assumed you were referring to the READ & RUN ME which is our removal process. Six logs are requested in that procedure:
    • CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • Bitdefender - from step 6
    • Panda Scan - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis

    Note: Running without an antivirus and without a firewall is about the same as swimming with sharks without using a shark cage and shark repellant. ;)

    Not True! You have both an antivirus and a firewall (and more) from McAfee!

    No! The READ ME specifies to attach the requested logs if you still need help after running the READ ME which it appears that you have not done. Logs must not be posted inline like you did and you did not even install and rename HijackThis as requsetd in step 7 of the READ ME. Did you run ALL of the READ ME? And did you run all steps in the order written?

    I would still suspect that you are having problems with not understanding how your software (including your firewall) works. You may have lost your DNS server settings and that would explain why you can ping and IP address but you cannot access anything via a URL.
