    Hi,

McAfee's Virus Scan Enterprise 8.0 started giving me a buffer overrun error block bo:heap (the error occurs with Internet Exploder and Outlook). I tried running the scan, but it seems that the database is out of date, and attempting to update the software doesn't seem to work...it says it does, but when I check the database date, it still says February 2009??? WTF. Anyway, I ran SAS to see if that helped, it found a bunch of trojans and some virtual dns stuff. I cleared that out, but the problem didn't go away. I tried running SpyBot, and it found a couple trojans, but the problem persisted. I decided to run through your Read and Run Me First, so without further ado, here are the logs.

BTW, everything seems to be OK at the moment, but I'd like to have the logs looked over to make sure everything is good to go. Thank you!

    Hello, sithspawn

*Just some tidying up left to do.

I strongly recommend that you clean up your Desktop immediately leaving only links. Do not store downloads, exe files, iso files....etc on your Desktop. First it is not a safe place to keep them (i.e., you may loose them due to malware, and a cluttered Desktop is an easy hiding place for malware), and last but not least it can have an effect on your PCs performance.

*Comment: Giving all users of this pc "Adminstrator Accounts" is bound to lead to problems.

    Step 1:
Please look in Add/Remove Programs for the following and uninstall if found. If you get any errors just make a note and proceed
    Step 2:
Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

    Step 3:
Open Ccleaner - select "Cleaner" > "Run Cleaner" <---use this ONLY

    Step 4:
Now install the latest Sun Java Runtime Environment

    --------------------------------------------------------

After taking care of that - it is time to do our final steps:
    Safe surfing! [IMG]
