I am trying to repair my wife's computer which will not boot. I have changed the boot sequence to CD first and tried to boot from the Vista CD.

I got the message "successful boot from CD" then immediately got the following message.

The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computer checksum. Nothing happened after that

Most of the articles I have read gives methods for repairing this by extracting files from the Vista CD or repairing from the Vista CD, but I cannot get that far.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
