Guild Wars

The graphics looks sweet on this online game. and its free to play.

What does everyone else think?

 

Looks pretty awesome. But last time i tried a free rpg, you could only move around in like one little area, and everything else you had to pay for.

 

Games is made by ex-blizz employees. The idea is sweet but there is something I just DONT like about it. There is no free roaming areas that you can go and grind on; they are all loaded instances that you go bashing stuff in; but if you go alone you wont make it past 1/8th of that area. In large nooby areas the games grahpx demands so much it really boggles your system down if you dont have a high enuff rig and still wish to see eye candy. Im still going to have to give it a try. It IS NOT FREE its 50$ to buy the game.

 

I've been in the beta and the preorder weekends for Guild Wars and I thought I'd share my impressions.

I love the graphics. Gameplay is not bad but not great either. You select only 8 skills that are locked in when you enter an instance so choose wisely, you have to leave the instance if you want to change them. If you need a group but want to solo, choose some NPC characters to group with you (they really aren't too bad). It's almost all instanced. I did not get attached to my characters at all. It is not free, you have to buy the box and then they will release expansion packs you must buy if you want any new content or to play in any new areas they add. The main focus is PvP (player vs player) so if you don't like that you won't like Guild Wars much. Hope this helps a little.

I'm still having more fun in World of Warcraft.

 

I'm a beta tester in the game and like everyone else the graphics are beautiful. I love these graphics and my machine really isn't high high speced but it is better then most. So far I am enjoying the game too. The gameplay isn't great but it is addictive to me personally. The creators seem to be doing pretty good as well. I haven't experienced any lag while i've been testing which is a good thing because most beta testing you experience a decent amount of lag at times. So it seems they are taking good care of stuff and whenever a glitch is found or something not liked they try to fix it or enhance it. I won the pre-ordered box at a LAN so I will definately get the game when it comes out, but if I didn't I would still buy this game because it has been pretty enjoyable already.

 

if you wanna play a game that you have to think from time to time.. b/c of the battle system then try this game on


I been in the beta tests, and 1 left to go b4 the 27th , and thats what they where beta tests.... but you get a great idea for the game. The PvP in the beta was fun for the fact they unlocked everything, and for anyone who could think D2 is better then guildwars LMAO


buy the game i'm lvl 8 in the beta and its pretty fun to run around as a str8 up ranger, but its better to have 2 classes

FYI : When they say its free.... the beta is free.. b/c i'm sure you can find a penny on the ground and thats all you need to preorder. and when the bills come there won't be one for guildwars. but this game can go in so many diffrent paths

 

Its alright. The PvM part of the game is ok, except its impossible to kill a monster higher lvl that you.

The PvP portion isnt all that great imo. It takes way too long, as compared to diablo where any semi-good char can kill someone in a matter of seconds.

decided to go with world or warcraft today so im going to pass on guild wars...thanks everyone

 

Hey, just wanted to say in less then 2 moons, we can play some guild wars, so if anyone was thniking about puttin down 50 bucks for the game.. you might wanna try the beta.. i though the game was sooooo lame.. but it actully has eye candy,very nice PvE, and the PvP is hard.. so i think its alot of fun
