I tried to fix it myself, thought I had it but no.
My computer went down like 4 or 5 times (lost count) each time it was missing NTLDR so had to boot via CD OP system. Got good at that, then had to reinstall everything.:(
Luckily I found my docs and pics hidden away but as for all my programs none work.
I have not had a photo program, reinstalled the Microsoft Works Suite which contains a photo program. Well all the stuff works that I don't really care about with the exception of the Picture It Photo 7 had two missing dlls.

I located this and followed the directions (so I thought) but still doesn't work.
#3 asks if I was prompted and I was not.
I went to RUN #6 and did that, (nothing)
    I don't know where I'm going wrong.

You want to search your C: drive for the stv7.dll and when found right click and select Open Containing Folder. Leave this window open.

Then Browse your CD for the same file stv7.dll and drag it over to the window you left open. You should be prompted to overwrite. Then you register the dll.

When you did the first part above did the search find the files on your HD?

At first it wasn't in the hard drive program. I drug it into the program from the CD, nothing happened.:(

Read what you said again now, I'll try it again. Thanks :wave

The main thing the search will accomplish is to tell you which folder the file should be copied into from CD.

So if you do the search now, try looking for the second file sbox7.dll that you haven't copied yet. See if it exists.

    *******
BTW...What folder do you find the file in on the HD?

Had you copied them to that folder earlier or were they there before you started to do the repair? [I'm trying to determine if that is the correct folder.]

I would just go back to the MS article and replace them from the CD.
Leave that window open and Browse the CD and drag the two files into that folder. Say yes when asked to overwrite.

    Then register them with
    Start>Run type in Regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Picture It! 7\stv7.dll

    and Run>Regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Picture It! 7\stv7.dll

You should get a successful after each command.
