I have a home network with 4 wired computers and 3 or 4 wireless computers all networked thru a Netgear router (WGM124). All computers are running XP - some Home edition, some Professional. Everything worked well until one wired computer just up and refused to join the network. I ran virus, spyware and registry checkers but nothing unusual came up. I installed Network Magic. The program sees the computer and on the derelict computer Network Magic even says it is connected to the network. But if I try to view the derelict computer from another computer using The XP My Network Places, I get an error message saying I don't have access rights. Network Magic on a working computer sees the derelict computer and lets me open the shared files normally and print to the shared printer. So the question is: Why can't I access the computer using Windows but I can if I use Network Magic?
