Here's the deal, we formatted a IDE Hard Drive than installed windows. Everything worked just fine. We than turned off the computer and plugged his SATA Hard Drive in, all the backed up files were on it. We turned on the computer and windows starts to load but than stops and restarts the computer. This is the exact same configuration it was before we formatted the IDE Drive and installed windows. We had the SATA drive unplugged from the system when we formatted the IDE drive and installed windows. After we installed all the drivers for the hardware, we than plugged the SATA drive in after turning the PC off and that's when the problem started. We unplugged the SATA drive than tried to boot to windows and it boots just fine. So it's obviously an issue windows is having with the SATA drive.

Did you install SATA drivers in windows?
    Windows doesn't come with them.

We just updated the BIOS, and all I can find is a RAID driver, no SATA driver on Abit's website. And the computer won't install the RAID driver, it says Incompatible Hardware and that it's not supported on this chipset. All the drivers are the latest, all from Abit's website. The SATA drive was working before we formatted though.

Was the PC prebuilt with windows and the SATA drive?
    What model of Abit mobo?
Do you have the CD that comes with the mobo it should have the windows drivers for SATA drives.
During windows install on the bottom of the screen it will say to press F6 or
something like that to install third party drivers, that is when you need to
install the SATA drivers for windows.
Following that train of thought the SATA drive should be connected during
the install allowing it to be seen by the OS as the SATA drivers are installed,
even though you will just install windows on the IDE drive.
