    Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on Major Geeks and I would like to say thank you to everyone upfront.

Recently my computer had a BSOD on startup and afterwards I have been getting a lot of error messages that say a program cannot start because it's side by side configuration is incorrect. A different forum had me try things such as sfc /scannow but everything I have tried so far has either failed due to the side by side configuration or has not been able to find a problem. My .net framework is currently down and I can not get it to start up and most of my drivers are also down. I cannot access the internet through a web browser due to the side by side errors; however, my computer does have an internet connection. I also cannot install any new programs or activate AVAST for the same reason.

I followed the instructions from this post http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=139681 and I have attached what I could. Out of the 5 scans listed, only Roguekiller and Hitman Pro worked. Everything else failed due to side by side errors.

Again, Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hey Chaslang,

Thank you for your quick response!

I actually ran into this solution previously. I had originally thought that it was my C++ libraries so I tried to download and reinstall them. I couldn't install them because of the side by side issues however. That is why I wondered if it might be malware related. Would you like me to try to download and install the C++ package again just to be sure?

    Thanks again!

    You're welcome.
Well it is really no a topic for this forum but I suggest that you download and save the installers to your PC. Then shutdown ALL protection software and see if they will install properly. Also if necessary, try installing them in safe boot mode.
