I need Geek assistance. Recently, I got slammed by a host of viruses, spyware, and other crap after installing a series of downloaded software. I read, understood, and complied with all applicable suggestions made by the Bad Attitude Geek. I was able to remove most items except for this rebooting P.O.S attacker that refuses to be found, let alone removed.

I have used Norton Antivirus, AdAware, Spyware Doctor, Spybot S&D, cc cleaner, etc... I have painstakingly edited my entire registry by deleting all entries that "don't need to be there", on and on, and on... the symptoms are as follows: (1) I run a scan, and as soon as the offending program is detected, I get the reboot middle finger !! I believe that the program is hidden in \windows\system32 and/or \Documents and Settings. I also believe that the offending program is activated when certain dlls or exe files are normally activated in Windows. (2) I will be using the computer for wordprocessing, excel, Outlook, or maybe even a game (Old DOOM) and there will be a hesitation in the system, then the reboot.

I am almost ready to format the root, but I know that I will get the reboot when I attempt this. Besides, I want to win, not surrender to this bastard.... I also do not want to reinstall and set up 60 gigs of stuff. Hints ??????
