My pc shut down while i was gone, when i start it up it goes to the boot screen. For every option, it goes to the boot screen (i think the console, not 100% sure thats what its called) and it says "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME ."

    Any help would be apprecciated.

    hi
it sounds like your "boot.ini file is corupted.
just load in your xp cd and re boot from the cd,
when u get the option click on r for repair and run the program
    that may fix the prob
    good luck

    :(

The error means the filesystem or bootsector is not readable.

The most common fix is to boot to Recovery Console and do a chkdsk /r.
