I have Kaspersky internet security 6.0 and every time I try to run a full computer scan, It just sits idle after awhile and then the program does not respond. I tried Privacy defender v4.0 and it does the same thing. I just scanned my system with AntiVir PE classsic and it ran throught the whole system but did not find any issues. I just tried to run Kaspersky again, same issue, not responding after a few minutes. Any Ideas on what is causing this? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please do not post any logs inline and HijackThis log should not be posted with having run standard cleaning procedures in the sticky threads (but I'll repeat them below).

However, you must pay close attention to step 3 and may want to do that before doing anything else. You have Antivir and Kav installed. You must ONLY use one antivirus. If you want to keep Kav, uninstall Antivir. Then reboot and see if Kav works. If not, try uninstalling Kav and then reboot and reinstall it.

If you still have a problem after doing the above, continue onto the below to look for malware issues.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
