Internet connection problems

    Have a new LAN modem. only problem is when i leave the computer for 20 mins it boots me off and the only way i can get back on is to "repair" the connection. help?

    Sound like you have a disconnect when idle time issue .....or under the local connection properties ....allow the computer to turn this (nic card) off.

    First lets check that it's not the nic card ....right click on local connection ...properties....under the connect using (your ethernet card) click configure ....go to last tab (power management ....uncheck the box to allow computer to turn off device.)

    If this is not it, you might want to contact your isp about the problem as dsl is "always on". It could be faulty modem.
