I am having problems maintaining connectivity on my SBC DSL. The SBC tech said the signal incoming was consistently fast and problem must be on my pc. I sometimes have fast connection while at times little or none. I especially have problems while downloading files. Even to download Norton Virus live updates, it takes many tries before download completes. Usually it quickly downloads first 5% or so and then stalls. The problem seemed to start a while back when I had the Look2Me spyware. I used this forum and HJT to get rid of that. My operating system is XP PRO.

Have you checked you firewall Settings ?
    What Firewall you Have ?
Are you Using any kind of Router or is the system on LAN ?
Whats the IP Address of your System ?

My local area connection icon in lower right of screen will show "limited or no connectivity" as status.

I also have freezing of connection after beginning to download files.

I have windows firewall "off" and use Zonealarm firewall.

I don't have router, connected through DSL modem through ethernet card.

I don't know IP address of system.

    thanks for reply
