In plain English, for Search results, it leaves the XP search facility for dead. Only snag is that you have to manually re-index your files every so often. Download is less than 50Kb in size

That's the general idea, LS. :D
I know I don't look at the various "Files" available, as shown down the LHS of the front page at www.majorgeeks.com, I usually use the Search facilty if I already know the name of what program I am looking for.

Re: How well do you know your Major Geeks site?

Wearing glasses has no bearing on the issue of eye strain or any eye health problems ( its worse to smoke as this has a 40% risk in having ARMD in later life ), contary to any mis-information you will NOT loose vision or gain sight issues from looking at a PC screen, the only issue is that of tired or dry eye, through stairing at the screen constantly ( this can be painful at times BUT not sight threatening ), this is why its advisable to take a 15min break every hour from looking at the screen or remember to blink, but the majority of users dont stair at a PC for long periods without blinking.

Some jobs do have a risk of high eye strain or tiredness, but they should be conversant in health and safety in the workplace to take regular breaks, eye drops etc.

Software cannot adjust a screens properties to fix eye issues, they can remnd you to take a break though, just like an alarm clock can. While CRTs flicker and have a tendency to be much worse than LCDs for causing headaches and tiredness, again these are uncomfortable but not going to cause you to loose your vision or have to wear glasses, if these things happen they were going to anyway.

Save your cash and just take breaks fromthe PC, if you are a heavy user on PCs then invest in some eye drops and see either your pharmacist, optician or ophthalmologist for advice.

There was a tenious link in a project with Glaucoma and IOPs risking in the use of PC monitors but this was done in Japan where a larger proportion of the people are mypoic or hypermetropic and wear glasses anyway ( or the sample group did ), having these two eye issues are a major contributing factor to developing Glaucoma, not the use of PCs, also being old and diabetic is a major risk factor as well of developing Glaucoma, so we can blame those two as well.
