I have a Packard Bell Easy Note H5315 Laptop.
I do not have a drivers cd etc for it & when i had to re-install windows xp home i did not make a note of the drivers for it :(
I have installed windows & installed the audio driver no problem and all works well.
I have noticed that my screen resolution has only 2 options of which are 1024 x 768 & 800 x 600 this is why i have listed the title as Display Driver but possibly not the correct wording.
When i looked at the device manager under other services i have a yellow mark next to the following.
    Pci modem
    Video controller "vga compatible"
I have looked for the drivers but I do not know how to check for what is installed within the laptop to find the correct item.
Please can you advise where i need to start.
    I have sound all ok.
I can watch videos all ok.
I have internet connection via wi-fi all ok.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Right click on the VGA Controller in Device Manager, select properties. Under the details tab provide the Vendor and Device ID. Do the same for the PCI modem.

    Hi
    Both show manufacturer unknown.
Drivers are not installed for this item code 28

If i type dxdiag in start / run & select display i am told that drivers are not installed & a generic driver is being used.

Go ahead and download the Display Driver in the link of my previous post.

You have a nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5100

Edit: I would also download the Modem driver.

I have downloaded and installed the item advised.
I had to restart laptop to finish setup.

I still have the yellow markers in device manager.
I click on properties and still told no drivers installed, code 28 ??

The Video chip seems to be something tied to OEM's. The driver is not on Nvidia's site.

    You can try here.

    http://drp.su/drivers/notebooks/?v=NEC&m=Packard Bell EasyNote&id=183&l=en

Scroll down until you see NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5100

It's quite a large download. I would check it for viruses with your antivirus software first.

Does the PCI modem still have the yellow exclamation mark?

I was to keen to install it as the virus check was all ok.
I restarted laptop and yellow marker has now gone next to vga controller but still by pci which is ok as i do not use dial up.
I have downloaded this file you have advised.
How would i uninstall the first one so i can install this one,as i see in add/remove programmes 2 new files for this driver etc.
If i remove them from there will i have a screen in use i mean a generic driver working so i can install the more advisable driver ?

Since you have installed the driver and everything is working, I would not bother uninstalling the video driver.
