To make a long story short: after 7 years having an Epson all in 1 printer I want a new one from the same brand because it served me very well. After a call to Epson they emailed me a $60 coupon if purchasing one of their products on their website. Sale items excepted. Their price without coupon $199.99

Googled and found that Best Buy has the same printer on sale at $99.99

There are 2 questions I have:
    1) I haven't read many good things about BB. Is it too risky to buy from them?
    2) The measures of this printer is not shown as equal which is very important to me re space.

    Epson Website: 17.6"Wx14.2"Dx8.9"H
Best Buy: in cm: 54.6Wx44.5Dx30.2H = abt: 21.5"Wx17.5"Dx11.7"H

They don't measure up the same. :cry What's up?

    Please advice. TIA

Granted BB is considered a shiester outfit, and I hate to shop there, but an Epson printer is still an Epson Printer, regardless of where you buy it.
Don't take their extended warranty though....that's BS!

I have five Epson printers here, the newest being the Workforce 500.
In my working years I was a factory trained Epson printer technician and I managed a local Epson service center.

I think I'd continue to look around, even on the Net to find the best deal on the printer you want. Epson also has a sales section for factory refurbished printers and scanners. I got a V200 scanner and a Photo R280 printer at really LOW prices. They still carry a like-new warranty.

    Happy Shopping!

I can't add anything except that I wish I had bought your printer at BB instead of my NX115 all-in-one. Granted mine worked fine until the black ink disappeared after a few measly invoices and several envelopes.:eek So I just bought some refills which they say are 'long-lasting' from Staples, could have bought a new printer for that price!:mad

At least your carts seem to be good from the get go for ink. That's my gripe though excellent print quality, I have to give them that.

Do you think they are the same ones since the measurements are different? Yeah, the inks from Epson are very expensive but I print mostly black ink and don't use a fax. Spent a lot of dough over the years buying their ink. :cry

Was thinking about the NX but decided not to. I'm gonna call BB about their measurements and if they coincide with Epson's will buy it from them. Hate buying online though. :( Sale is until Aug 11.

They look the same so I'd expect the same specs too. All depends on who inputted the specs in the first place. I'd trust the Epson specs but buy from BB as Epson will not undercut their distributor's price, that's normal policy for any retail industry. Check the SKU'S and see if they match.

Yep, they do look exactly the same. I called BB' store and they will keep one on hold until 2morrow 9 PM. The guy didn't know about my query what the measurements are concerned. Where can I find the SKU# on line to see if they match since I can't find it? :-o Yeah, BB price difference is $40 compared to Epson's if I would apply the $60 discount within 30 days.

My hubby picked up the Epson today and also purchased a USB cable which was not included which did cost $29.99 + 13% tax. That was a rip off IMO.

Anyways it did take some time to install and boy is it ever fast in printing. It makes some gurgling/clicking sounds which I have to get used to I guess. So far so good. :)

Yep, it's exactly the same as the one from Epson's website and therefore fits nicely. Looks so streamlined compared with the Epson Stylus Photo RX500.

Thanks all for helping me out.

Yeah, that cable was a pure rip-off, since I can buy them all day for about $5 ea. But fortunately, you only have to buy one in a lifetime.

Now the ink is another matter. The carts that come with the printer are just starter carts. They don't have a full charge of ink in them.
You might want to start looking for an ink source, PDQ.

I still recommend that you take a look at Inksell.com
    Go to this site:
    http://www.inksell.com/inkepson.html

Plug in the model of your printer and then look at their ink prices for that printer.

They are my main source of ink and I get free shipping. A package deal is your best buy.
I have two printers that use the same carts and one printer that uses different carts, so I make up
an order large enough to quality for the FREE Shipping. Works for me!

    Enjoy your printer!

Now you tell me after I just spent $80 on carts from Staples?!:p No probs man, I wonder what they charge for S&H to Canada?

Hm, checked out some websites, Canada Computers, Tiger Direct, Newegg.ca and NXSource.com etc. and these don't carry the T127220 Black xtra high capacity and T127520 xtra high capacity (3 colors multipack).

Epson has them of course and are $20.99 for black and $62.95 for the multipack.

It was stated somewhere on accompanied papers that my cartridges come with full ink and show as such on the pop screen when printing. Hope that in time some vendors start carrying them.

    Thanks again guys.

@shadow, the website you mentioned doesn't carry them either, just the high capacity.
