NetGear DG834N connectivity loss

I have just upgraded my Windows 8.1 system to a compatible asus motherboard. Before I
did that, the DG834n used to lose connectivity every now and again (weekly). (It is not my ISP). Now I have got the new gear, it happened yesterday morning, this morning, and now! I have got my main machine plugged into it via Ethernet.
My new motherboard is an ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3. I did think about a router compatibility issue with the new motherboard and Windows 8.1, but why would the connection drop out every so often (twice today)?
    Firmware is the latest (v1.02.15).
    Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm assuming the wired Ethernet connection is operating properly and not dropping the signal.

If this is the case, it sounds like an issue with the Wi-Fi router part of the device. If it is still under mfr. warranty, I would contact Netgear about getting a replacement.

If out of warranty (and again assuming wired connections don't drop out), you could connect an Ethernet-connected wireless access point to take over the Wi-Fi connection duties.

    Hope this helps. :)

It does help, but... the ethernet connection is dropping it (even though I changed the port).
What is strange, is that the lights are all on, the same as before, even when it the connection drops out.
I powercycled it this morning, left the power cable out while I went to the shops (10 mins there and 10 mins back), plugged it back in, and connected.
The wifi part is not affected, because my laptop could connect wirelessly (checked while my wired connection was down).
Anyway, here are the ipconfig and ping results when it was disconnected:

Now the connection is dropping on the wireless one, as soon as I connect again, it disconnects! However, the wireless light is still on, but it doesn't affect the wired connection!
