    is BIOS the same as CMOS. In other words, when it says in my directions to enter CMOS and enable or change some settings, is it talking about BIOS in which you just press F2 at start up

    CMOS is a menu within your BIOS settings, so yes you access BIOS using your F2 key in order to access your CMOS settings.
