Wow...this thing is so fricking cool, and for whatever reason, Im ok with the slide out keyboard :-D

So smooth, so fast....so customizable.

Im in love.

Man it sucks for non-gmail email though.

and how did you do the screen shots of your phone? I need to that to figure out the fix for my issue.

 

I hated Layar. Mostly because I don't know how to use it :-D

There are a couple of ways to do screenshots.

Use Home++, or download the SDK, install the droid drivers, and do it that way.

Or--root your phone and install a screencap utility.

I went the SDK route. Let me see if I can find an article.

Don't bother with the java.

Just enable USB debugging mode, install the droid drivers, unzip the sdk, and in the tools folder, launch ddms.bat with admin rights.

Select your phone, and then screen capture under device will be available.

 

that worked awesome adry, especially since Eclipse was giving me fits.

 

Just to spam the sheer awesome good looking wallpaper and what not.

what clock widget are you using Adry?

Mine is the retroclock and retro calendar. I like the small foot print of them but I like the included weather of yours.

 

I am using Weather Widgets Donate with the glass-clock skin. It cost a buck or so.

 

Get Google Goggles.

When it works right, it is so awesome it hurts.

When I say "works right" I am not saying that it is super buggy and force quits all the time, you have to install the app to understand.

It does a Google search from a picture taken. And the business card interpretation is so great.

BTW, I would try Handcent SMS. You will most likely kiss the default messaging app goodbye.

 

does handcent replace the default messenger or do you have to choose it?

 

You can set it as the default, and then use the Handcent shortcut or widget instead. The widget displays unread message count. It handles both MMS and SMS.

Just make sure you disable notifications in the default messaging app. Otherwise you will get duplicate notifications.

 

might have to try it out. I am always kind of nervous about installing "replacement" stuff for core functions of the phone.

 

Well replacement is a strong word. The Droid messaging app is still alive and well. Its just not used, unless you make that choice. Nothing is overwritten persay.

Ah, yeah. Haven't played with it, I am pretty hooked to the hardware keyboard.

 

I love predictive text though and that doesn't work with the hardware keyboard.
