THIS IS FIRST TIME UP TO BASE. Running XP Pro with updates, Ok I am running a Dell Creative Live 5.0 sound card. When i installed to My home made IBM compatible computer didn't see Dell sound card but Windows installed drivers and recognizes card with even same irq assignment. Now when i go to my system panel it shows unrecognized card in pci slot where sound card is. Everything sounds good as for sound card properties. Should also try to find Dell Creative Live SB0200 driver or will i open a bucket of worms. My usual way ic correct install means, should i just smile and go with the flow if it aint broke don't fix it.

SOMEWHAT CONFUSED NEVER SEEING ANYTHING LIKE THIS

Greetings, George Hart, and welcome to Major Geeks.

The Dell card probably has some proprietary firmware or markers that are causing the Device Manager flags.

IMO, if your audio is sounding good, I'd go with what you suggested: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :major
