Hi, I usually just read the threads a fix things but this time I have to ask.:(

My brother-in-law gave me a hard drive he had only used about a month and said I had to reformat it. I put it in and tried to but it just keeps recognizing it as removable storage. Which it says it full. I originally tried putting xp on it but it said there was an error. I tried everything I could on the website but I can't figure what is wrong?

It is a Seagate Baracuda 7200.9 400 gybtes. I just want to delete it and reformat it but whenever I click on it is says 0 on storage but the properties shows a completly full disk on the circle graph.

I would appreciate any pointing in the right direction?

we are going to need more information (ie - what is your os, is it an ide or sata drive, how are you installing it - master/slave, or cs)? - sos

i'm thinking it's a sata drive as you are seeing it as a removeable drive?
