How do I remove a program from loading in the startup menu and being placed in the bottom right task bar?

The way I do this is to use a Startup manager such as Startup CPL: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=619

This will allow you to toggle on/off whichever program is starting up and places an icon in your taskbar system tray.

Does WinXP have a program within itself that can do this?

    Yup-

Start > Run > "msconfig" > Startup tab

Does basically the same thing. Personally I like StartupCPL better.

[Edit] ya beat me to it, Clox :)
