Software or Hardware??

I have problems shutting down The computer. It closes windows and screen goes blank but the computer continues to run???
In the last 2 weeks it has randomly done this, Windows is closing (goes through the windows is shutting down saving your settings ) and for all intensive purposes it is shut down.
It is like it forgot to tell the board (ok shut off!!!) :confused
Any ideas???

Maybe You will find the reason why your comp don't want to shut down.Please,post what you've done.Good Luck!!!!

 

Hit ctrl+alt+del once at the blank screen, bring up the task manager and find out what is still running.

I bet it's a version of Adobe acrobat viewer that you used while you had internet explorer open.

 

Thanks for the advice, But windows has compleatly shut down, At least according to the bios led error box on the motherboard (Abit IP 35 Pro)
it has just forgotten to tell the motherboard to shut down (I did a Hive clean up and it seems to have fixed it) but being random I will wait for a few more shut downs to be sure.
