My HP Pavillion SR2010NX crashed and not having anymore the restore disks from HP, I have purchase and install Windows XP Pro. Well of course I now need to install numerous drivers to have everything back in working order... Went to HP Website and did search under item name and 6 XP drivers available. Called HP Support and they informed me that they do not support OS upgrades and there are no drivers available for XP Pro. Ok... so I went to ASUSTek... Searched my MOBO Serial Number on the forum (see question title) and was told this motherboard is special for Hp and not supported by Asus. Went to NVIDIA (the chipset) and downloaded a couple more compatible drivers... Now I am left with no sound, no modem (not vital) and no working network card (even though the adapter shows up as OK in device manager) The device manager lists 1 item under "OTHER DEVICES" in yellow PCI DEVICE. I think that the sound and network card are part of the motherboard.. The info concerning my motherboard are at this address http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...70&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3239113&lang=en The motherboard card is named by HP Naos-Gl6.
So, I am searching all over the net for drivers for the sound and network and hopefully this will remove this PCI device in Yellow.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

:wave Welcome to Major Geeks! :major

    Here's your drivers:
    Chipset Drivers
    Modem Drivers
    Network Drivers
    Video Drivers
    Hi-Def Audio Drivers
Microsoft UAA Hi-Def Audio Update (KB888111)

Install the chipset drivers first. Install the UAA Update (KB888111) before installing the sound drivers. If you're running SP3, and you have audio problems, please post and I'll try to help (sometimes SP3 has issues with KB888111). That should do it!

    Good luck!

(you'll notice the downloads have names like "sp12345.exe"; you may want to add the device name to each driver when you save it so it looks like "video-sp12345.exe" and "network-sp54321.exe" and so on; it will make identifying each driver much easier!)

Thanks dlb for the response. As stated before I have downloaded the 6 drivers from the HP site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3239113&lang=en , this has cleared up 5 of the 6 yellow icons in the device manager. HP chat on line in one of the discussion had me to install http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_178.24_whql.html and Hb888111xsp2 for which I had to install .net framework before. On another chat, HP had me to install a realteck file http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/realtek-rtl8100.html
So, I already have installed the 6 drivers proposed without success.
After all these steps, I still have a yellow icon PCI device in the device manager and no sound and the network does not work.
I have installed the drivers from HP in the order of the web page + the 2 additionnal drivers links provided by HP. Could it be that I did not install in the proper sequence? if so, how to desintall and reinstall in the proper sequence?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

Always install the chipset drivers first, and always install KB888111 before installing the sound driver. Other than that, the order the drivers installed generally doesn't matter, just be sure to restart the PC after each driver has been installed. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the sound drivers. Restart the PC and install the chipset drivers, restart again and install KB888111. A restart here isn't necessary before installing the sound drivers. This should fix the audio. For the network drivers: check the Device Manager and post what's listed under the Network Adapters heading. If the network driver isn't listed, try installing this driver. I did some research and it seems that many folks have issues with the same network chip that you have and the driver link I just provided should work.....

Man, I got the nine disks to re-install the OS from HP for less than 20 bucks with shipping. I got this PC as "salvage" collecting "junk" for the project I run a year ago. I hope you did the same to obtain the OS. I have the Naos-GL6, please double check your specs. If the L is not in caps, IT WILL affect the search. The network and sound are integrated, which means they are part of the MOBO. Here is a link you may find useful:

Your integrated audio is an 8 channel ALC888 CODEC. It is a RealTek integrated audio option, and was used quite frequently on integrated MOBOs. Here is a link you may find useful:

Here is a download link for High definition audio software from Realtek:

I hope this helps, and in my case, I have an aftermarket Audigy 2 ZS. Old as the hills, but damn reliable 24-bit gold plated sound...
