I'm having problems accessing the WU site on my work computer. I get this message:

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. [Error number: 0x80072F76]

I haven't found anything to help with this error message on M$'s site, so I don't know what else to try.

Try and register these DLLs and try again, close IE and do the following,

Click Start > Run and type regsvr32 wuapi.dll > hit enter

then do exactly the same with the rest of these

    regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
    regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
    regsvr32 wucltui.dll
    regsvr32 wups.dll
    regsvr32 wuweb.dll
    regsvr32 jscript.dll
    regsvr32 atl.dll

then try again also if using the link on the Start Menu use this one and see if different

I went through all your steps and tried again. I received the same error message. I'm not sure what's wrong...it was working fine two weeks ago.

Which OS version and service pack installed?

    Are you using a firewall?
Are you using a accelerator program? ( eg. NetZero HiSpeed, Speedband, etc )

Turn them off and try again.

W2k with SP4. Currently running ZA Pro 6 with no accelerators of any kind. Disabling ZA allowed it to work...surprise, surprise. What is the deal with this firewall lately?!?

Do you have the mobile control set to ON in ZA?

It does block ActiveX if it is, so turn off Mobile Control and see if ZA lets you through, you can also add Microsoft or the windows update url to the site list?

One PC I have has ZA 6 still on it and I have all the Privacy options off and get to WU ok. Seems as if ZA pro is adding more levels of protection but making if more difficult to keep tabs or what system files you allow access to.

May in due time swap ZA for Outpost, which is on my other PC.
