Video Conversion for Video MP3 player

So I lost my software CD for my Insignia NS-DV4G Video MP3 player, I am trying to get a video onto the MP3 player and i need a program where i can raelly customize stuff like bitrate etc. The software that cam witht yhe CD is ArcSoft Media Converter 2 which would output the file into a .avi with 512Kbps video 128Kbps audio 320x240, 29.97FPS 44100Hz, I have the old software on a backup drive but i cant get it to work right when trying to convert a file. The AVI file i am trying to convert is a XviD Codec (1.0.1). Any suggestions to what software i could use, freeware is preferable but i can do shareware and stuff.
