Running Windows 7... Hard drive crashed in my gateway so i took old hard drive from my dell and replaced it with it. Now I cant get connected wireless or wired. I have tried a lot of different things that i have read here on line. Like the new catalog reset and there was another Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log and I'm still unable to connect. :cry

    Hi

Did you re-install Windows 7 afresh onto the HDD you took from the Dell?

If not then the main problem here is if you just swapped directly your Dell HDD into the Gateway PC as the hardware will be different, so you are likely missing alot of drivers, its a wonder it booted at all.

Is your Windows 7 at SP1?

In Device Manager do you have any Yellow ! marks or Red X's and if so by what devices?

What is the exact Model version of your Gateway?

It really is a wonder that it booted in the new machine. You aren't running windows 7 anymore, this says version 6.1.7601. That's Vista?

The Device Manager is still the place to go, just didn't want there to be confusion about 7 since this doesn't seem to be in Windows 7

No more red or yellow marks and connected via ethernet running ipconfig /all you get the same results as what you posted? Everything else is functioning?

Where is ethernet adapter #1? How many network cards do you have on your computer?
