audio dell inspirion 1545

    no sound, go to control panel , hardware and sound, go to sound says windows audio service is not enabled. but when i click on device manager it is empty.

    What is your laptop operating system ? Is there any yellow question mark in Device Manager ? :cool

    We need to know more about your system and machine, with you having a Dell can you please give us the service tag # as this will help in getting the correct fix for your machine as the tag # is unique to your specific build.

    Not sure which version of win 7 you are running so will give you both drivers...
    to check to see what version you have go to ..Start> right click Computer>Properties... here you will see your version of Windows....

    Win 7 64 bit....

    you must re-start your machine after the install for your system to recognise the changes.

    Hi

    Does your Windows 7 have Service Pack 1 installed?

    When you mention Device Manager is empty is this the whole of Device Manager listings or just Audio is missing?

    so for example is it completely empty of any devices or does it look like this but with no Audio device under Sound, video and game controllers.

    If they don't show can you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and do the Devices show up?
