hello today is the first day in a long time and i am not a geek. here is my situation and i would like any advice or any help i can get.

i bought a brand new Toshiba Satalite with a core 5, 8 gigs memory, and 1TB HD from a mail order company. i have put it online only 1 time and that was to register windows 8.1 . this is because the paperwork states that it has LOJACK installed. this laptop was shipped to me from the factory, and definately is not a stolen laptop!!!!

i am concerned about privacy and government intrusion into our personal affairs so i would like to get the lowjack completely and permenantly removed from my laptop. it is bad enough that microsoft has given them a key to the back door to windows and linderman may have given a key to PGP, but i have a copy of PGP i downloaded to 3.5 inch floppy in 1996 that is still zipped so im sure that they do not have a back door to be able to see what i want to keep private. i lost alot of money when my avast pro had expired and all my files had been encripted 2 years ago by hackers and adwords sent me to a company pretending to be avast and screwed up my computer even more and i had to reset to factory settings to keep the techs out of my life.

i had ebooks and things like that , that i had bought that i lost, so i do not want to loose access to my computer because someone is mad at me or wants to cause me trouble. i will be moving to the philippines soon to marry my fiance and live there as i am disabled and therefore no income to report and can not find a co sponsor for my wife. that is why im leaving the usa.

any help in getting lojack off my laptop will be appreciated because if i cant get it removed im going to sell it and buy a different one. thank you!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

I'm sorry but LoJack is not malware and we really cannot help you with this. You have to speak to the company you bought your PC from to see if they have a procedure for removing it. It is something embedded into the hardware on your PC.
