XBOX failing ip address test with wireless connection

Anyone working with a comcast Dynamic Ip address know how to bypass the ip address test and connect anyway? My wireless netgear is connected but I fail the ip address every time. Frustrated with xbox as they say I need a static ip address issued which comcast says is BS!!!!! My xbox is brand new, the netgear router is brand new and my laptop connects. Xbox support changed the xbox mac address to the same as my pc. Frustrated!
