    Thanks everyone. Sorry this response is so late. I'll explain why and then
    you will understand how I spent my birthday.

    So on my birthday this year at 9 am I checked into local hospital to have
    some major repair work performed on my left shoulder:
    • significant rotor cuff damage
    • rotator cuff impingement requiring a lot of grinding down of bones.
    • A couple of bone spurs to remove too
    • bicep tendon totally cut to emoved from the should area and then reattached via a hole and screws into the humorous bone
    What I can say is OUCH!!!! And sleeping in any position is still very difficult even now a week plus later. My left arm has to be in a very bulky sling 24/7 for at least 6 weeks. Only time it can be off is showering ( very hard to do with one arm, left arm cannot be moved ) and when I go for physical therapy 3 times per week ( ouch, ouch, ouch ).

    So no cake! Just pain and lots of icing. :(

    So have not been able to be around that much and one hand type is not fun. In fact it is frustrating.

    Oh well just think positive, get plenty of rest because after all this surgery your shoulder should be a lot better .... after you have recovered that is :)

    Had a feeling something was up, just didn't know what. So sorry to hear you're in a lot of pain Charlie, that's a hell of alot they have to do with your arm. Wishing you all the best for a rapid recovery. I think you're right handed so at least that's free to type! :-D

    Yuck! That's an awful way to spend your birthday.

    I've known 2 people who have had to have rotator cuff surgery and I know it is not fun. Sorry you are having to go through it, Chas.

    Joffa, thanks for the OxyContin. :-D Actually had been taking 650 mg of Percocet every 6 hrs for the first 5 days. Now I have been taking it after physical therapy only. ;)
