    Hi,

Whenever I save a file from the Internet etc. my computer does not seem to recognize it as the appropriate file type. I have to manually type in .JPG etc after naming the file, otherwise it saves it as an unknown file type. It does this even though the 'Save As Type' part of the Save dialog box has already identified the file type correctly. It used to save image files just fine without having to type in the extension. I have made sure all the file types are correctly associated in the Tools>Folder Options>File types dialog box.

Also, my image files will not execute the default graphics program on my PC (Corel Photo House 3), although they will open in the program if it is already open.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me nuts!

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 5000.

    Thanks.

Delete your Temporary Internet Files. To do so, click Tools, click Internet Options, click the General tab, and then click the Delete Files button.
