    Hello,

I've been having occasional blue screens in the last few weeks, as well as my MBAM unable to activate malicious website protection. I ran a scan couple weeks ago but this problem persisted, so I ran a scan again today.

Of note, as I was running the Malware-Bytes, my AV (Microsoft Sec Essentials) picked up a trojan (ransom:Win32/Reveton.V). This is interesting because I just changed my AV from McAfee to MSE. McAfee never detected this. MBAM also did not detect this

After running all logs, MBAM still seems to have the issue with activating website protection. I'm fearing that my MBAM might be infected, so I wanted to post this now to see if I can get some help (and not let any more malware go undetected by MBAM).

    thanks!

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    • Right-click OTM.exe And select " Run as administrator " to run it.
    • Paste the following code under the [IMG] area. Do not include the word Code.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\AI_RecycleBin
    C:\Users\BABY\AppData\Local\temp.tmp
    C:\Users\BABY\AppData\LocalLow\AskToolbar

    :reg
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing\AskPartnerCobrandingTool_RASAPI32]
    [-HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing\AskPartnerCobrandingTool_RASMANCS]
    [-HKU\S-1-5-21-2011259410-2052357940-3773691534-1001\Software\Softonic]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{7C260B4B-F7A0-40B5-B403-BEFCDC6A4C3B}]
    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large [IMG] button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into a text file to ATTACH into your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    Thank you Kestrel!

My MBAM is working finally! The firewall and MSE are working as well!

Based on the numbers of repairs I had to do, I seemed to have had MAJOR problems with my system (pun intended) ;)

I attached the logs as requested. Let me know if any additional steps need to be taken.

the only minor concern I have right now is that my CPU usage is hovering around 10-20% even though the only running application is chrome with this tab open (and background AV and MBAM). Hopefully this isn't anything concerning.

    thanks again!

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
