unable to craete rendering engine

    New to computing! What is this message and how do I solve it? Win 7 directx 9.0 Dell Inspiron 565 but no added chipsets. Thank you.

    A bit more info may help us to help you with this, what software/game gives you that message? and is that the full message?

    As Windows 7 is natively DirectX11 and not DirectX9, however some games need a few of the DirectX9c dlls and other files, so as you can install DirectX9c in Windows 7 (have needed to do this with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 game) install DirectX9c from HERE

    Try running the game or software in XP compatability mode, right click the Shourtcut to the game and choose Properties then Compatability and choose XP SP3 and Apply.

    The game is Actung Panzer, Kharkov 1943 from graviteam and paradox interactive, but I bought and downloaded it from gamersgate 2-5-2010 the full message is: critical error 003: unable to create rendering engine. Thank you for your prompt response as this is really irritating.
