Funky, wants to know how to read his Globally Unique Identifier or GUID, which XP as an OS uses for many things, including Activation.

Other software also use GUIDs that I know of in ORACLE and NOVELL.

TBH ( and I maybe wrong ) but it would be a nightmare to find a specific GUID as they are allocated for all sorts of things from ActiveX controls to the XP Activation, plus they are random generated codes!

Geeze, there's no reason to be harsh! funky munky is most likely referring to the windows GUID (although there are others), which is found in the registry. Most System Information utilities will tell you, but it is stored in the registry if they don't.
