How hard is it to implement an Intranet? I have the hardware, the hard disk space. I know what an Intranet is, but not sure how to build it, and set it up.
Should this be done by someone with high HTML skills? Is it simple enough for a newbie? I really have no idea what I am getting into, if someone could politely explain. :)

    Thank you.

it's as easy as setting up a web server behind a firewall.

So making an Intranet is just like building a website that no one can view except for whoever is behind our Firewall?

Lots of laughs, very funny Doug.

I am planning on using Windows 2000 Server.

Back with Win98 there was PWS (Personal Web Server). Such a feature is absent in WinXP Home, but WinXP Pro (which I use) includes IIS (Internet Information Server), that is also available in Win2K. Once you activate it and use it to configure a folder to act as a home web directory, it becomes a simple matter of browsing to http://server/iisrootfolder/yourdocument.htm from any other machine on the intranet holding sufficient permissions to access it.
