My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite running Windows 8.1 and all updates are current. I surf the Internet with the latest version of Firefox. I usually have my laptop's speakers turned off and I turn them on only when I need them.

Problem: When I visit a website containing video ads, my laptop speakers automatically turn on when the ad starts playing. I'm disturbed that a video ad can do that. Any way to prevent online content from commandeering my computer? :confused
