Hello everyone, my name is David, this is my second post today, lol, I have been having some trouble. My roomates were messing around with my computer the other day downloading a whole bunch of porn from limewire, well, I found out about this the next day becuase I have an icon on my desktop I did not have before that says "girls gone wild..." So, I obviously tried to delete it, but it will not go in the trashbin. A little pop-up comes up saying that it is moving it into the trashbin, but it ends up just staying there. I try to rename it, do everything to it, but nothing works. It showed up as a movie file before, but now for some reason it is one of those icons that does not know what it is lol, don't know how to describe it. It is one that will ask you what program you want to open it with. Anyways, it still does not delete. So, I am pretty sure it is a virus, but then again, I'm not a computer wiz, so I am unsure. Can someone please help me get rid of this!

    Thankyou!

    David

Then you would be wise to follow thru the below :) Also worth remebering that it is never a good idea to tap out your e-mail address onto a public forum ~ the risk is that it could be harvested for spamming purposes. I will alert a mod to this and have it snipped out

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, You can try running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
