Bought an airport express and have it set up to work wirelessly with my laptop. The airport is connected via hardwire from my verizon modem. The modem is encrypted but since i'm now using the airport express as my connection, it is presently unsecured and i am wondering which is the preferred encryption i should choose from the pull down menu (i hear that some work better with PCs than others)

    The choices are:
    40 bit wep (more compatible)
    128 bit wep (more secure)
    wpa2 personal
    wpa2 enterprise

    Thanks.

If your laptop supports it.... WPA2 is the way to go
If you do not have the latest drivers or newer firmware to support WPA2 personal, it should have just WPA PSK support, use that.

Stay away from WEP in all formats, ie.. 40 or 128 bit encryption. It can be cracked in minutes! Trust me on this one.
When creating a password/paraphrase for your WPA, use anything but a dictionary word!!!!!!
