   Tonyrush Corporal

   This computer was given to me because it would not boot up. I went through several things and found out it had multiple infections of Malware and addware. Through the running of software that I got from MG the malware and addware is gone now and the computer is working great! I'm using Windows 8.1 and it is supposed to be automatically protected by Windows "defender". It was not protected. How do I prevent this from happening again?

   You said "prevent this from happening again". Does this mean you have it working properly now?
   
   Note: If any other protection software had been installed, this can cause Windows Defender to be disabled which is what is supposed to happen because you should not have multiple antivirus/antispyware protection programs running.
