Trojan Horse in 7Zip?

    Hi,

I just installed 7zip, and during the installation, AVG gave a warning of a Trojan Horse. It took care of the threat and the software seemed to install OK, obviously with all the extraneous stuff unticked and the Babylon Toolbar not installed.

It was called Trojan horse Generic30 AKCK, and came along in a file called bprotect.exe. This is not a file that I chose or gave permission to download.

Anyone any idea whether there is still a threat?

    Many thanks
    Angie

Hi thisisu, thanks for your reply.

I have had 7zip before with no problems, and I downloaded it this time from a link on Majorgeeks, so I expect it was just coincidental. I have Superantispyware, Malwarebytes and CCleaner as well as AVG, so I'll do what I can before I bother you! Thanks so much for the offer of help, and I'll get back to you if necessary, if I may.

    Regards
    Angie
