BOOTMGR is missing ....

This morning, on switching on, I get that message. Nothing I can think of to do.

Help, please!

I can use wife's computer to receive replies, etc.

My machine is running Vista Ultimate, 64 bit (if that affects anything).

I am a relatively naive user, not into deep techie stuff.

So far as I'm aware, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. I run AVG virus scan every night, after i finish, and the computer then closes down automatically.

I've followed the thread about d\l a start up disc - but when i click for the 64 bit version, it comes up with an error message - nor compatible with 4 bit!
