ok, I have Vista Ultimate running on my system now,but I want to install Gentoo 2007 on here too. Vista is for my family, but Gentoo is for me. I'm fairly knowledgeable about general pc problems, but I have never tried a setup like this. I have a 40gb drive partitioned with 20gb for linux and 20gb for vista. My question is,what do I do from here? I heard I have to write to the MBR of my drive. Won't this corrupt the entire drive? What's the easiest way to do this?

    Are you proficient with Gentoo?

I have used it before, I have just never installed both OS's on the same drive.

You install Vista, then setup Grub in the MBR.
