Firewall keeps asking if want to run different *.dll files.
Most of time no idea if needed/wanted. Dont necessarily seem to be related to current process. Various info sources (Processlibrary, etc) not much help. Dont really understand dynamic-link-library file needs for system/programs. Anyway to judge ?

Thank you for the followup.
Using OA, latest version. Another part of the question is that am using an older laptop, and would like to keep CPU and memory usage to a minimum, if possible. But, if program/s really need *.dll to work better, then would like to make available.

Of course windows needs dlls to work. These are dynamic link libraries. But if you see popups when you are on websites, I'd be suspicious of the websites. I do not say yes when I am on a website and get asked if I want to allow (fill in the blank).
I'll wait for someone that uses OA to post and see if that is normal. I've never used that firewall.

Am fairly satisfied with OA-free, have tried some others. It sometimes shows, if click on info link, what program is associated with the DLL, so can block if dont use that program. Also do some checking online to see what is said about the DLL before 'allowing' it. Just seems like there is an endless stream of these DLLs, once or twice per day, and would be nice to know if the program/pc really needs additional DLLs which may be just adding needless cpu/memory usage instead of doing any real good ? Not sure how 'popups' relates to the DLL question, but also dont allow popups at sites unless click on 'allow always' or f'or session only' with IE or FF.

Have actually spent some time looking at sites like those, and most have pretty sketchy info and suggestions, and a lot of the file info types just say they dont have enough info yet about the DLL. Guess its just kindofa best-as-can guess as to whether to allow a DLL or not.
