i have 2 hard drives. one has xp on it and the other i just put ubuntu on. after getting every thing all set up my computer stopped recognizing my xp hdd (my master hdd). I unplugged everything that was IDE related and just started working the hd that wouldn't boot. no matter how which position i put the jumper in (master, cable select) i can't get the computer to see it as a master. Only had a slave. Then of course i get the error message saying that there is no master H.D.D. If i bypass this error, i am presented with the xp loading screen, but shortly after haunted by the blue screen or stop code, then the computer restarts. Is this a case of a bad hdd? bad cable? or am i doing something wrong. Any help on this subject would be helpful. Thanks!
