Modem Max Port Speed.

    Hi,
    Checking through my system, (XP Pro), I noticed that my Dial-up modem had its max port speed set at 115200, but when I checked my com port speed , this was set to 9600!
    My question is , would this port speed setting have had an adverse effect on my internet connections?

    I have re-set the com port setting to 115200.

    If this is silly query , please ignore!!
