Unhappy "Search Here" search engine installed itself -- can't delete

Hi:

I'm not sure what happened but all of a sudden a search engine called "Search Here" appeared and installed itself as the default. I went through the complete malware removal process and have some of the logs attached. I'm having other problems unrelated -- I guess -- to this. MGTools would not allow me access after it ran a scan and then it disappeared completely from my computer. I can't find a way to copy the mbam report and it won't save as a report. I tried making a screen shot of it but your program won't let me upload the docx file. I've attached the three that did save as reports. I also have a problem accessing the desktop menu. The cursor is either runaway or frozen, so I'm not sure if there's something else on the list I should be sending here. My system is just a blithering mess.

Anyway, I'm hoping someone can tell me how to get rid of this virus or other malware that's installed the unwanted search engine.

Many thanks for any help.

Jane

The only way this would happen is if your antivirus/protection software was enabled and you allowed it to delete it. Disable your protection software and download and run MGtools.exe per the instructions in the READ & RUN ME. We need this log to help you.

The Malwarebytes log is saved on your computer in a folder like below:

C:\Users\USERNAMEAppData\Roaming\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

Where USERNAME is the actual user account name being used. So for you, it should be skidawayme

Did you install this C:\Windows\skipmetrosuite.exe and allow it to hook into your startup or userint.exe
