Can't get the net to work

That's the main problem, i have an adsl connection, and to pcs connected. I tried all stuff to get the net to work, but nothing. I cant share internet and i cant share files. The server pc has an static ip 192.168.0.1 and i put i choose in the other one to look for an ip automaticaly (both pcs have win xp). I ping both computers and nothing. I reinstalled both network cards, but nothing. I dont know what to do and its driving me crazy.
Please HELP!

 

Did you restart the router? That's most of the time a problem for me; a simple restart fixes it.

 

Both pcs are connected directly, without router, the problem is that if i look the net connections both sends some packages but anyone receives
