I am running Windows 7. Automatic updates are set up on my computer. When I logged off earlier, I received the installing update 1 of 4 message. The computer is hung up and will not shut down. I have tried rebooting several times to enter safe mode and cannot get it into safe mode. Discussions with a friend revealed a Windows Defender automatic update came through today. I am running Bit Defender and think this is probably causing the problem. How can I get past the blue screen to cancel the automatic update if I can't get into safe mode? I have no mouse or task manager available.
