Switching OS's

I currenty have windows ME, and I'd like to upgrade the OS to XP pro. What are the risks, and seeing that I'm a total newbie to this kind of thing, is there anything I should know? Is is easy to do? Should I leave well enough alone? Im scared I'm going to screw the PC up.

 

ok look...buy windows xp pro upgrade or home...go to bios change it to boot from ur cd or dvd drive...delete all partitions...install...but thats if u want everything gone...thtas what i do there its that easy it will take a lil over an hour to format then about 45 minutes to install xp update drivers install ur stuff...UR DONE!
